Fury had his best offensive round in the seventh, landing multiple left jab, right hand combinations that caused substantial swelling on Wilder's face.
The American champion struggled to connect cleanly with Fury throughout an absorbing contest, all too often sending huge arcing haymakers whistling past Fury's head. At the end of the round, and following Wilder's usual late flurry, the two became entangled, Fury taking the chance to mock his man with severely odd tongue movements.
There is, however, doubt as to whether Wilder would take a rematch.
