The company has also confirmed the prices at which the new MacBook Air, iPad Pro and Mac mini will retail in India. Halide co-founder Sebastiaan de With has tried to imagine what the new iPhone would look like if it borrows the design from iPad Pro.
We'll let you know more about these as soon as we get our hands on them, but it's not all we were talking about this week.
The new iPad Pro uses a system of wireless power to charge the new Pencil when it is placed on the special area on the side of the iPad, but apparently that charging system is different from Qi.
But, of course, the new devices are not only powerful. It turns out that, indeed, the A12X chip has no real rivals, as it's capable of delivering performance unseen on Android tablets, and most Windows 10 machines.
The iPad Pro models have a USB-C port that allows them to work with an external monitor for the first time. The Mac mini comes with a Gigabyte Ethernet port and ThunderBolt 3 ports along with the regular USB and HDMI ports. Now, you can also tap with the pencil more easily than before thanks to a new touch sensor built into it. The 1TB storage version of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro has been priced at Rs 1,57,900.
The Retina MacBook Air starts at $1,199, and can be customized to fit up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1.5TB of SSD storage. It›s still very large, but nowhere near as large as previously and that›s going to make it a lot more practical when it comes to working on the move.
It's worth noting that the Apple MacBook Pro range does pull ahead of the iPad Pro when it comes to multi-core scores, with the entry-level 15-inch model recording an impressive 21,176 score compared to the 18,106 managed by the iPad Pro. Both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch devices come in Space Gray or Silver and have the new A12X Bionic chip, which includes the Neural Engine, enabling advanced machine learning and twice as fast graphics.
The iPad Pro with LTE is $150 more expensive and you need to pay a monthly fee to get it online. The iPad Pro is in stock at most carriers with release date delivery. There is no way I can afford this device, and as long as I can't replace my laptop with it, there is no way to convince my boss to buy one for me either.
