Google unveiled its new Pixel 3 phones, Pixel Slate tablet and HomeHub device at a glitzy event in NY on Tuesday, as it looks to up the ante with Apple for consumer's spending this holiday season.

Google have officially announced their Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones for $799 (~RM3317) and $899 (~RM3733) respectively. Sadly, even in today's world, we can't get a smartphone that really lasts more than a day with heavy usage - you're going to have to plug the Pixel 3 to charge overnight, just like any other phone.

Google Pixel 3 XL comes with 6.3-inch OLED notched display and with QHD+ resolution 523ppi pixel density, 18:5:9 aspect ratio, Gorilla Glass 5 protection and HDR support.

Since the launch of the original Pixel phone, Google has provided Pixel users with unlimited photo and video (at original quality) back up through its Google Photos service for free. This is the display version of the Home Speaker with a 7-inch display that can also be used to watch YouTube videos and can practically handle all kinds of home-based activities that you want your Google Assistant to do. Both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have dual front-firing speakers and a second forward-facing camera for capturing group selfies.

"Instead, the Pixel 3 and XL shoot for premium specs but without the accompanying price tag".

Google's Pixel Stand is a different take on the wireless charger, one that can turn your phone into a small smart node.

The Google Home Hub is the firm's smart display with Assistant built-in.

However, not included with the tablet is the separately sold $199 Pixel Slate Keyboard. However, it's not clear if it'll be limited to Pixel 3 or pushed to all Pixel phones. There is also an optional backlit keyboard accessory, along with a stylus. A few months ago, Google also added a disclosure which announces Google chatbot being on the other side of the call.

In terms of ergonomics, both the devices feel more compact, in fact, nearly the same as the 2017 editions.

Google's Pixel USB-C earbuds. The price has held steady at $35, and you'll still control the Chromecast exclusively with your computer or mobile device rather than a remote control.
