Photographers take pictures of the a man and a woman in the court in Freiburg, southern Germany, Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018 before they were sentenced to long-term prison sentence for for offering the 9-year-old son of the woman for raping by pedophiles.
Three German men and one Swiss citizen have already been convicted in separate trials.
The news agency dpa reported that a state court in south-western Germany sentenced the woman, who has been identified only as Berrin T, to 12-and-a-half years in prison for rape, sexual abuse and forced prostitution.
The court found that the couple had sexually assaulted and raped the boy for years, and sold him on the so-called dark net to pedophiles between May 2015 and August 2017.
Six men who paid to abuse the boy will serve between eight and 10 years; the mother, Berrin T., will serve 12.5; her partner, Christian L., will serve 12.
The couple have been ordered to pay the boy 30,000 euros ($35,000) in compensation, and 12,500 euros ($14,500) to the girl.
A German court handed down lengthy jail sentences to Berrin Taha (held by policeman) and her husband Christian Lais (sitting left) for pimping their son online.
He also made serious accusations against the child's 48-year-old mother, who confessed to the crimes but remained largely silent about any possible motive during the trial.
They also admitted they had sexually abused their son, who was nine at the time.
Police exposed the paedophile ring after they received an anonymous tip-off from a member of the public.
The mother was often near the scene of the abuse by other men "to exert a calming influence on her child", and in the case of one client participated herself, the court said.
Local authorities have been accused of failing to protect the boy from his abusive parents, after officials removed him from his home, but returned him back weeks later.
