The device itself is black-colored no matter what version you get, but version with different strap colors will be sold, so the device will be available with silicone straps in Black, Blue and Red colors, at least in the beginning, as Xiaomi will probably introduce some additional colors later on. That's pretty large. The company's recent flagship, the Mi Mix 2S, has a 5.99-inch LCD display.
That notch occupies most of the top of that screen, but it isn't just for show. The HDR-compatible display has an aspect ratio of 18.7:9 and a pixel density of 423ppi.

Along with the Mi 8, Mi 8 SE and Mi Band 3, Xiaomi also launched the Mi TV 4 today, at its 8th Anniversary event. The Mi 8 Explorer Edition, which sits above the Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE in the company's lineup, is an impressive bit of kit, packing 3D face unlock, like the iPhone X, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, which you can't get on a major rival right now, and a transparent back, which gives you a nice look at what's inside the device.
There is also a higher variant of the band that also features NFC support for quick connectivity. The Mi 8 SE is the first phone to come with this chip, which is supposed to deliver a 30 percent battery consumption improvement compared to the Snapdragon 660. The Mi 8 Explorer Edition has design and hardware that's similar to the Mi 8, however, there are some differences. No word on global prices yet, but they're usually higher outside of China.
