2012 Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said ABC had "been looking for a reason to cancel Roseanne".
In his own lengthy statement, Fishman wrote, in part, that he was "devastated" for his fellow cast and crew mates who lost their jobs on the show that he said "strived for inclusiveness, with numbers storylines created to reflect inclusiveness".
The rebooted "Roseanne", where Barr played a Trump supporter, worked beyond anyone's dreams - logging 25 million viewers for its premiere in March and settling in as television's second most popular comedy after "The Big Bang Theory".
Tom Arnold, actor and ex-husband of Roseanne Barr, said Wednesday he was not surprised by the cancellation of ABC's hit sitcom "Roseanne" after the show's star went on a racist Twitter rant. Sanofi, the company that makes Ambien, issued a statement that said: "While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication". Several conservative figures stepped forward to defend Barr after she was sacked, decrying a hypocritical Hollywood culture and censorship in the name of an overzealous political correctness.
Barr replied, saying, "Sorry to have tweeted incorrect info about you!I Please forgive me!" "But before it did the right thing, it did the wrong thing", she wrote.
Many observers have been wondering when President Donald Trump, an active Twitter user who had previously called Barr to congratulate her on the big ratings earned by the "Roseanne" revival, might chime in on the controversy surrounding Barr's tweet and ABC's swift decision to cancel the show. Roseanne is unlikely to maintain its ABC levels of viewership if it moves over to Bond - but Caputo evidently is still trying to keep the show alive in order to highlight Bond's counter-programming initiative. The CEO, who has renewed his contract with Disney through December 2021, has acknowledged he considered running for president.
"This is a person who, left to her own devices, is not totally in control", Harbert said.
The two officers involved have been put on desk duty while their conduct is investigated, but Wildwood Mayor Ernie Troiano said he thinks the cops "were doing their job" because the Weinman "refused to comply". But much of its progress would have been threatened if it looked the other way at Barr's tweet.
"A lot of comics say bad things", Harbert said. "I don't know anything about it", Goodman said when asked what his response was to the fallout.
