According to police, the suspect who killed a police officer in a shootout on Friday, barricaded himself in a house in IN, and then died from his wounds.
Authorities still have not released the suspect's name. That suspect also died from his injuries. He offered the full resources of state police to the Terre Haute Police Department including a special tactics and weapons team, robots and helicopters.
"We were in four separate cars, and I watched my friend get killed", he said.
The suspect was injured and medics on the scene were called to treat the man, Watts said. Radio traffic at first seemed to indicate the suspect might be alive, but police later announced he had died.
Terre Haute police and officers from other agencies surrounded the building in the Garden Quarter apartment complex on the city's south side shortly after the shooting, police spokesman Ryan Adamson said. "Thank you for your continued prayers".
According to WTWO-TV in Terre Haute, officers were looking for a possible suspect in a homicide at an apartment complex when gunshots rang out.
Terre Haute Police say several churches have planned a prayer vigil for Saturday evening. When they did locate him, the lieutenant said, he was lying on the floor.
News 18 sister station WTHI has confirmed a Terre Haute Police Officer has been killed in the line of duty.
