Motorola's 2018 lineup of midrange and low-priced smartphones includes Moto G6 (6th generation Moto G) and Moto E5. Well, the company confirmed the Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and the Moto G6 Plus (for Mexico) will be available on Motorola.com later this Spring.
Inside the Moto E5 there's a big 4,000mAh battery which Motorola claims will give you a full day of use from a single charge.
For a number of years now, Lenovo-owned Motorola has specialized in mid-range Android smartphones that combine decent specs and design with affordable prices. There's a 12MP (f/1.8 aperture) + 5MP dual rear camera that can record 1080p videos at 60fps, and an 8MP front camera for dealing with selfies. The smartphone is available in 2 shades - Indigo and Gold colours which measures 159.9x75.5x7.99mm in dimension. The Moto E5 Plus succeeds the Moto E4 Plus, whereas the Moto E5 replaces the existing Moto E4 device. It has a 5.7-inch 18:9 display with HD+ resolution and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC. It will also come with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a Snapdragon 435 processor. The front camera is the same at 8Mp. The battery feels small compared to the others, but isnt small small at 2,800 mAh.
The moto g plus will go on sale in the United Kingdom from 2 May at a starting price of £269 and will be available exclusively at Carphone Warehouse. The new Moto G6 devices should again hold the crown for best budget devices (under $400) this year.
The Moto G6 Play is the cheapest of the three models but it's definitely the one which will offer the best battery life.
The Motorola Moto G5 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor under its hood, supported by 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, which is expandable via microSD.
"The Moto G6 sports with a 5.7" Full HD+ IPS LCD display. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the back of the phone, and it measures 200grams. While the fingerprint scanner sits at the rear panel, under the Motorola logo, the whole package is backed by a 4000mAh battery coupled with TurboCharge support.
It has a 13MP f/2.0 sensor with a 1.12um pixel size as its main camera and a 5MP sensor as the front-facing camera.
The cameras feature modes and enhancements including group selfie mode, landmark recognition, object recognition, portrait mode, spot color, face filters, panorama, manual mode, beautification mode, manual mode and face filters. Selective Black and White lets you choose different parts of the image to colorize, leaving the rest black and white. On the one hand, there's the risk that the E5's are overlooked in the hype surrounding the Moto G6.
While all these new handsets are building off some established lineages, Motorola's not afraid to push its hardware in new directions, and taking a cue from a lot of other recent smartphones, five of these six models upgrade to extra-tall 18:9 aspect ratio screens - only the lowest-end Moto E5 Play sticks with traditional display dimensions.
The Moto E5 and E5 Play, like their G6 counterparts and very similar in appearance.
The moto eplus will be available in the United Kingdom from early June at a starting price of £149 and will be available from Amazon and selected Independent resellers.
Motorola said last month that it will be announcing new products in April.
