Nintendo Switch fans looking to delve into the dark side of things through the realm of Dark Souls Remastered will find that it will be at a later date compared to PC, PS4, and Xbox One. These links leave Siliconera.
"Dark Souls: Remastered delivers the same great gameplay, online mechanics, and environmental storytelling that has inspired countless game players and developers", said Kasumi Yogi, Associate Brand Manager for Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., in a written statement.
In addition to the game's delay, the Solaire of Astora amiibo is being pushed back too. But there is still some good news, as Bandai Namco has confirmed that the Dark Souls Remastered Network Test Switch will still go ahead.
With the launch of Dark Souls 3, From Software has announced that it has no plans for another entry in the Dark Souls franchise. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and PC builds remain on track for May. The delay announcement stated that the development team needs more time to make sure that Switch owners can fully enjoy the remaster in both docked and portable modes due to the system's hybrid nature.
In a followup tweet, the publisher added, "Rest assured, this time will ultimately be used to improve your journey to Lordran". Would you rather wait a few extra months if it means Dark Souls Remastered will be a better experience?
The upcoming remaster is set to include the main game as well as its DLC, Artorias of the Abyss.
The official Dark Souls Twitter account announced today that the Switch version of Dark Souls: Remastered has been delayed until this summer.
