Olusoji Fasuba, a member of quartet that won the 2004 Olympics Game 4x100m bronze medal on Wednesday said that Team Nigeria's relay would perform well at the ongoing Commonwealth Games.
"In the meantime, the other two weightlifters of the delegation, along with the basketball players and officials have already left Australia and are presently airborne for Cameroon", he said.
Australian Border Force were searching for weightlifters Olivier Matam Matam, Arcangeline Fouodji and Petit David Minkoumba, and boxers Ndzie Tchoyi and Simplice Fotsala after they apparently fled.
"But out here, only six of them effectively took part in their respective competitions, while two left without competing".
"Their team-mates informed us they had left", he added.
Emily Seebohm pocketed two more golds, in the 50m backstroke and medley relay, to complete her Gold Coast medal set - she also won 100m backstroke silver and 200m backstroke bronze.
In 2012, five Cameroonian male boxers, a female footballer and a male swimmer absconded from the London Olympic village.
These athletes are guests here in Australia.
"But this is obviously an issue that Team Cameroon is monitoring very, very closely".
The former sprinter said that the home-based athletes should be given more consideration in the area of financial remuneration.
"I don't to be too blase about it but there are mechanisms to deal with it and it will be dealt with in the right way by that department".
"We billed the Commonwealth Games as the "Friendly Games" and certainly they're friendly", Commonwealth Games Minister Kate Jones said.
But with the Roses having topped their group they should avoid playing hot favourites and reigning champions Australia, who play Jamaica later on Wednesday, in the last four on Saturday.
In February Home Affairs minister Peter Dutton warned games visitors including athletes and officials, must abide by their visa conditions or else face effect under Australian law.
Games chairman Peter Beattie encouraged athletes to stick to their visa guidelines.
"There is a mechanism in place", he said.
