An agitated Conor McGregor stormed the UFC media day event at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Thursday, slamming a metal barrier toward a bus occupied by McGregor's possible replacement as lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

MMA star Conor McGregor is facing a list of criminal charges after an attack on an MMA rival's tour bus at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Thursday.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship said two athletes were wounded, forcing them to be pulled from the upcoming UFC 223 card.

Conor had his first hearing in front of the court on Friday in NY where he was charged with three counts of assault and one of criminal mischief, a judge ordered a bail of $50,000 for Conor and $25,000 for his ally in the attack and friend, Cian Cowley.

Conor McGregor has been released on bail of $50,000 by a NY court. Both are due back in court June 14. To his mind, it could be a year before "The Notorious" gets his life back together, and that is before one considers the prospect of potential jail time. Max Holloway is ruled out on medical grounds whilst cutting weight after weighing an alleged 159lbs when New York State Athletic Commission forced him out of the fight.

If former UFC champion McGregor is looking for help from the organisation, he is out of luck, UFC president Dana White said on Friday. White also said this week he did not expect McGregor to attend Saturday's UFC 223 card.

"Conor and I talked through text yesterday", White said during an appearance on First Things First.

Ever since the 29-year-old McGregor made history by becoming the first UFC fighter to hold two belts simultaneously, the UFC has struggled to get its hugely popular "bad boy" to follow the rules.

"Outside the cage, they're garbage - very dirty guys", Nurmagomedov said. "I have too many other things to think about". McGregor and his pals fled the scene afterwards, but he later turned himself in.

Journalist Chisanga Malata took to Twitter with the image, claiming that it's Conor McGregor's booking ticket. 'Most of the things I would rather not say, and probably can't say on TV'.

The Irishman hasn't fought in the octagon since November of 2016. That bus also contained Ray Borg, who's fight has also been cancelled due to fragments of glass getting in to his eye.

The bout with Alvarez represents McGregor's last UFC fight.

He did, however, fight and lose to Floyd Mayweather Jr in a money-spinning boxing match in August 2017.
