Each month, subscribers of the company's exclusive Gold service have access to two Xbox One and two Xbox 360 games they can download for free for either the entire month or parts of the month.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate introduced easier traversal than earlier AC titles, and it received an 8.2 in IGN's review, saying "London makes for the best Assassin's Creed experience in an age". These days, it seems like the Assassin's Creed series seems to be going in a vastly different direction, but Syndicate is still worth a look if you're a fan.
Then, starting April 16, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, normally $49.99, and Dead Space 2, normally $19.99, will be free to download via the Gold section on your console or the web. Remember, all 360 titles offered with Gold are backwards compatible on Xbox One, so you won't need to bust out your old box just to play them. Still, this might be a good download if you've got some youngsters who would like to play, even if most players would otherwise give it a pass. Dead Space 2 is the middle chapter in Isaac Clarke's battle against the necromorph outbreak, and achieves a great balance between action and the bone-chilling horror that made the series' name.
