The incident followed Saturday's lunchtime match at Old Trafford and was caught on mobile phone and obtained by the Daily Mirror, which splashed with the story on its front page this morning.
The 14-year-old United supporter was in the passenger seat while her father was driving and talking to the former England defender about the game.
A Manchester United fan's vehicle happened to cross Jamie Carragher's Range Rover in the aftermath of the fixture and in a footage, he (the fan) was heard mocking Carragher by saying, "Unlucky Jamie lad - 2-1!" .
The girl can be heard saying "he spat on me" and saying "on my face" when asked "where did it hit you?".
"I was goaded three/four times along the motorway while being being filmed and lost my rag. I thought, 'Why has he done that". I have not got out and banged on his vehicle.
Sky Sports chiefs will speak with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher after his public spitting incident.
A Sky spokesman said last night: 'It is unacceptable behaviour and we will be addressing it with Jamie'.
"It was a bit more than, "Hiya Jamie, it was 2-1", the 40-year old said.
She responded: "OK, thanks for apologising".
Carragher is a regular pundit for Sky Sports and hosts Monday Night Football alongside fellow retired footballer, Gary Neville. It went on for two or three times.
The report states that Carragher called the fan and his daughter to say, "I just want to apologise and I hope you are OK". I could not believe what had happened.
